Home is Where the “Harte” Is

I was tasked with helping design a special jersey release created during BHM to honor the many thriving black neighborhoods that once existed in Charlotte– one of the most prominent being where the Spectrum Center currently sits.

Using the Hornet's classic pinstripe moniker, we enshrined the neighborhoods in gold– an ode to both the Charlotte Mint as well as the act of enshrining things to preserve, protect, and cherish for many years to come. Also included are pedals of the Dogwood flower (the state flower) and boldened the letters “H-A-R-T-E” in the Charlotte nameplate: a play on the word 'heart' but also a surname that means 'strong' or brave.

This project wasn’t created solely for profit, but as a thank you to the communities that have made Buzz City and Charlotte what it is today.
